You speak to me

“YOU SPEAK TO ME
(adapted to song)

At the cool of the day with You I walk,
In my garden’s grateful shade.
I hear Your voice among the trees,
And I am not afraid.

Your hand that shuts the flowers to sleep,
Each in its dewy fold,
Is strong my little life to keep,
And competent to hold.

You speak to me in every wind,
You smile from every star,
You are not deaf to me, nor blind,
Not absent, nor afar.

The powers below, and powers above,
Are subject to Your care.
I cannot wander from Your love,
Who loves me everywhere.
